Environment
This nursing home is located in Alajuela and it is the second largest nursing home in the country, with 210 senior citizens; 101 employees and 28 regular volunteers. There are not enough human resources to serve them. The investment involved in giving joy to this highly vulnerable population is more rewarding than any monetary compensation; it makes us feel more human and better with ourselves.
Voluntary social responsibility has the ability to generate a new business paradigm that is more profitable, but at the same time properly articulated around the implantation and development of an efficient and more humane globalization. A responsible and sustainable company is that which endures creating value in a multidimensional way, for itself and for the environment.

CHRISTMAS FAIR
Each department must collect:
Adult diapers
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
We donate two business hours of each department in the company to carry out recreational activities with them.
- Historias de Café
We share two hours with the elderly. We listen to their stories, we talk about soccer or politics, or we simply share anecdotes and memories from the past.
- Belleza de Oro
Prodex’s female staff devotes two hours to brush the hair, put on make up and paint the nails of elderly ladies in the home.
- Bingo
We have a bingo with all the elderly in the nursing home, giving 10 symbolic prizes of ¢1000 colones each. Prodex associates will play domino with the elderly.
- Dance
We coordinate dances in the multipurpose hall for all the elderly. Here, Prodex associates will be able to enjoy, dance and share with them.
- Cine
During all the other activities carried out, videos were recorded and pictures were taken in order to design a home video showing the best moments of Prodex in the nursing home. A special snack was given to them and we used the time to give out diapers and personal care items collected by the departments.
- Subasta de Beneficiencia
We donated electronic items and food to sell at the auction organized on April 19 in Guácima of Alajuela.
- Noticias que Inspiran
Media participation through the advertising agency has set an example and become a benchmark for other companies in being part of acts of love for their communities, besides compensating the number of bad news currently saturating mass media.
- Cena de Gala
We collaborate in purchasing tickets to the Gala Dinner at the nursing home, where all what is collected will be used to buy wheelchairs.
Our commitment to the elderly population will continue throughout the year, with Christmas activities in benefit of this nursing home.
- Concierto con Rogelio Cisneros
We give our support by selling tickets and food. We donate all plastic tableware. The funds raised will be given to the home.
- Cimarrona
We hired a cimarrona to perform in the home’s main courtyard, where we have a good time and share with the elderly.
- Iluminación del Árbol de Navidad
Donation of tamales as snack for the tree lighting and nativity set activities at the home.
